George and Associates, Consulting Engineers, Inc. assisted Franklin County School Board in the development of its new K-12 School located in Eastpoint, Florida. Preliminary tasks included site evaluation with respect to wetlands, soils, site location, utilities, earthwork and roadway improvements. Over the course of the project, our office coordinated with the Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Northwest Florida Water Management District and the Construction Manager with regards to the placement of the dredged and trucked in material for the purpose of elevating the site to a suitable finished grade.
G&A was also responsible for preparing final construction documents which included grading design, hydraulic conveyance design, off-site utility extensions, stormwater management design and roadway design.
Additionally, our office obtained all permits, including site plan approval from Franklin County, stormwater permitting from FDEP and NWFWMD water and sewer permits from FDEP, roadway improvement permits from FDOT and transmission line relocation permits from Progress Energy Florida. During construction and at the time of substantial completion, we performed construction inspections and construction certifications.
