George and Associates, Consulting Engineers, Inc. prepared a feasibility study and a preliminary engineering report for a 46-mile pedestrian/bike trail along the route of the former Georgia Southern & Florida Railroad Company for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Florida Greenways & Trails.
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the proposed route for use as a multi-use trail, primarily for pedestrians and bicycles with consideration of development of adjacent equestrian trails through partnerships. The scope of services included the proposed typical section of bike trail, design of sixteen different crossings, evaluation of a 200’ bridge, and cost estimating.
